Swindon Town Centre PSPO

 Swindon Community Safety Partnership is currently consulting on renewing the Town Centre PSPO. We would like your views on whether we should renew the order and if we do, whether we should make any changes.

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) were introduced as part of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Disorder Act 2014 and are designed to deal with a particular nuisance or problem in a specific area that is detrimental to the local community’s quality of life, by imposing conditions on the use of that area which apply to everyone.
Behaviour being restricted has to:
  • be having, or be likely to have, a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the locality;
  • be persistent or continuing nature; and
  • be unreasonable.
