  • NEVER let your handbag out of your sight, especially in public places.
  • AVOID carrying large amounts of cash.
  • KEEP your handbag closed and fastened.
  • KEEP your purse safe at ALL times.
  • NEVER leave your purse on your shopping basket, on tables or shop counters. KEEP YOUR PURSE OUT OF SIGHT.
  • USE a handbag alarm.
  • BE ALERT—don’t let yourself get distracted.
  • IF SOMEONE knocks or bumps into you, check that they have not taken your purse or wallet out of your bag or pocket. It can happen very quickly and you may not notice.

  • If you can, share a cab with a  friend—it’s cheaper and safer
  • Always sit in the back
  • If you chat with the driver, don’t give away your personal details
  • Before arriving at your destination have your cash and keys ready
  • If you feel uneasy, ask the driver to stop at a busy, familiar place and get out.
